Privacy
This site is built to know as little about you as possible. In plain language:
- No cookies we set for visitors.Nothing on the public site sets a cookie, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. (The site's own editing surface uses a session cookie. It is not publicly reachable, and its login endpoints return “not found” on this site.)
- No accounts, no profiles, no tracking pixels.
- Aggregate analytics only. Page views are counted by Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc., United States), our hosting provider. It is cookieless and aggregate — page path, referrer, country, and broad device type — and is never tied to an identifiable person. Your IP address is not stored. Search terms and filters are stripped from the page address in your browser before anything is sent, so what you searched for never leaves it.
- Country detection for the price tables runs in your browser and is never sent to us or stored.
- Outbound links tell the site you visit that you arrived from smartglasses.today, and nothing more — never the page you were on, never anything you searched for, and nothing about you. That is how the publishers we link to can see the readers we send them.

Legal basis, and what is actually processed
The only processing that happens when you read this site is the aggregate page counting described above, plus the server logs any web host keeps in order to serve pages and absorb abuse. Both rest on our legitimate interest in running and securing a working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). There is no processing that would require your consent, which is why you are not asked for any.
Who else touches it
Three providers, all in the United States, all acting on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc. — hosting and the aggregate analytics.
- Neon Inc.— the database holding the site's content, in AWS
us-west-2. It holds headlines, links and editorial notes; it holds nothing about you. - GitHub, Inc.— the code repository and the scheduled job that fetches publishers' feeds.
Because all three are in the United States, serving a page to a reader in the EU or UK involves an international transfer. We rely on the providers' standard data-protection terms for it. Given that no personal data about you is stored in any of them, the practical exposure is limited to the transient technical data — principally an IP address — needed to deliver a page at all.
How long anything is kept
Aggregate analytics are retained by Vercel on their standard schedule and contain no identifier that could single you out. Server logs are short-lived and kept by the host for operational and security purposes only. We keep no visitor database of our own, so there is nothing on our side with a retention period.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object, and to data portability. Write to contact@smartglasses.today. In candour: because we hold no personal data about visitors, most such requests will have nothing to return — we cannot find you in our records because you are not in them.
